RAS Operations Manager

Scottish Sea Farms are an internationally recognised farmer of superior quality Scottish Salmon. As part of our continued growth and investment in our business we are now recruiting for our new £44 million Freshwater Hatchery. The first of its kind in the UK, this state of the art facility - Recirculation Aquaculture System (RAS) will produce the best quality smolts before transferring to sea water at the optimum time.

We are recruiting for a RAS Operations Manager for our Freshwater Hatchery, located in Barcaldine, Argyll. Reporting to the Freshwater Production Manager, you will assist in the day to day running of the RAS facility with the responsibility for maintaining optimum water quality and
biofilter function on site.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ practical experience in farmed fish production ideally in Freshwater, with over 2 years’ in leading and managing a team in a high pressurised environment or other demonstrable experience.

You should be educated to a degree level or equivalent in relevant subject area. Knowledge of fish health and welfare: biofilter processes, maturation and have an understanding in water chemistry. You will be highly organised, be able to demonstrate good time management and
effective communication skills with a pride and passion for what you do.
