Orkney Engineering and Logistics Manager

Due to expansion within the Orkney area, we are looking to recruit a Engineering and Logistics Manager who will take responsibility for our marine engineering infrastructure and all logistical activities involving, barges, vessels, nets, mooring infrastructure and pens. This will be a senior role within the Orkney farming management team.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ practical experience in an engineering role with over 2 years’ in leading and managing a team in a high pressurized environment or other demonstrable experience.  A knowledge and understanding of marine aquaculture would be advantageous, as would experience of conducting supplier negotiations and the drafting of tender documents.

Candidates should have at least a HNC/HND level Engineering qualification or equivalent with a good understanding of financial budgeting and capex planning. A high level of computer literacy would also be required for this role. 

You will have the drive to succeed, a well developed sense of pride and the ability to inspire others.  Gifted communication skills are essential and your ability to plan ahead will be matched by close attention to detail. You must also ensure that all tasks are completed in a professional manner adherent to strict health and safety requirements and practice good house keeping throughout all activities.
