Managing Director Marine Harvest Fish Feed

Established in 2013 Marine Harvest Fish Feed, with its first production site in Bjugn, Trøndelag Region of Norway, has quickly grown within the MH Group to produce over 320,000 tonnes of optimal nutrition feed for its internal and external customers. Marine Harvest Fish Feed’s second production site currently nearing the final stages of construction and will
be commissioned during December at Kyleakin, Isle of Skye, Scotland. From these two Feed Plants, Marine Harvest Fish Feed will expand its supply of Feed to Europe to exceed 550,000t and will increase its product range to supply salmon grower feed, organic feed, freshwater diets and cleaner fish diets.
Research and development is central to Marine Harvest Fish Feed establishing leadership in the field of salmon feed production and our trial stations are key contributors to that strategy. The Company has committed significant resources to R&D and is focussed on delivery the best possible feed to our salmon to ensure optimum quality, taste, growth and fish welfare.

Job description
Based in Bergen the role of Managing Director Feed will report to the Chief Operating Officer- Feed. The position will
have responsibility for Feed Production in both Norway and Scotland, to serve Marine Harvest’s European Farming
Business’s and its other customers.
In conjunction with the COO Feed the Managing Director Feed will evaluate new feed business activities in Marine
Harvest’s key production regions. The role will also require extensive evaluation of new feed production methodologies
using internal and external expertise in this field.
We are seeking a highly motivated, technically competent, individual with exceptional leadership skills. The successful
candidate will have a strong core competence based around, nutrition, R&D or manufacturing. The candidate will have
developed from this core skill into a wider skilled senior manager with broad experience related to business
administration and strategic competence.
Candidates should possess a good degree in biological sciences, nutrition or process technology and or food
manufacturing; supplemented ideally, with a higher degree in a related field. Experience in salmon feed product
development and manufacturing is a distinct advantage.

Additional competence and qualification

  • Fluent in English, written and oral
  • Fluent in Norwegian is advantageous
  • Experience in Fish Feed Manufacture, Product Optimisation and R&D
  • Knowledge of raw materials market
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience
  • Commercially orientated and adept in technical matters related to feed production
  • Logistics competence
  • Proven track record from previous positions
